Mr. Mark Andrew Zogg

Mark Andrew Zogg March 5, 1966– January 18, 2025 Mark Andrew Zogg, age 58, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at his home, surrounded by love. Mark was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend who touched countless lives with his humor, kindness, and unwavering generosity. Born on March 5, 1966, in Davenport, Iowa, Mark was known for his passion for cars and anything with a motor and wheels. He loved spending time tinkering in the garage, bringing engines to life, and sharing his love of mechanics with anyone who would join him. Mark had a gift for making every moment lighthearted and fun. His playful spirit, penchant for pulling pranks, and ever-present smile brought joy to everyone he encountered. Mark shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Jan Harrison, cherishing every moment they spent together in a bond that words could never fully capture. He adored his “Lucy” showering her with affection and giving her the best ear scratches imaginable. Family meant everything to Mark, and he treasured time spent with his mother, Maryann Zogg; his sister, Beth Zogg; and his beloved nephew, Christian, and niece, Callie. He also found joy in his lifelong friendships with Lonnie, Jim, Cale, and Rudy, as well as their families, whose bonds of camaraderie and shared memories remained strong through the years. Mark had a business degree with a minor in automotive from LeTourneau University in Long View, Texas. Also, he had a degree in nursing. Mark was deeply devoted to helping others, a passion reflected in his career as a nurse. His compassion and dedication brought comfort to countless patients and their families. Outside of work, his church family held a special place in his heart, providing a community where his faith and love for others flourished. Mark is survived by his wife, Jan Harrison; his mother, Maryann Zogg; his sister, Beth Zogg; nephew Christian; niece Callie (Tanner); and his bonus children, Candace Harrison (Edgar) and Lane Duncan. He is also survived by a host of cherished friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Chris Zogg. Grant Memorial Chapel will hold visitations on January 24, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. and January 25th from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. A celebration of Mark’s life will be held on January 25, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel. Friends and family are invited to gather and share memories of his joyful and generous spirit. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swearengin Volunteer Fire Department - (P.O. Box 38 Grant, AL 35747) in his honor. Mark’s warmth, humor, and selflessness left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his light will continue to shine through the countless lives he touched.
