Mr. Travis Mayhall

Born on October 28, 1939, in Grant, Alabama, James Travis Mayhall lived a life marked by love, service, and dedication. On January 23, 1960, he married the love of his life, Reba Jo Snow, at her mother's home in New Hope, Alabama-a union that became the foundation of a beautiful family and lasting legacy. Travis proudly served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. He went on to build a long and fulfilling career as a truck driver, for approximately 35 years, before retiring from Kennamer Brothers Trucking. A devoted Alabama football fan, Travis also found great joy in the outdoors. He had a deep love for his dog Beau, and after his passing, he found comfort in the companionship of his loyal dog Buddy, who brought him peace and joy in his later years. On October 23, 2016, Travis became a member of The Way Church, where he finally found the peace that surpasses all understanding in Jesus Christ. His faith became his foundation, and he held a deep, abiding love and respect for his three pastors and his entire church family. The Way Church became a true spiritual home for him, where he was surrounded by encouragement, friendship, and the presence of God. Though we grieve, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life. Travis is survived by his wife of 65 years, Reba Snow Mayhall; daughters: Cindy Myers (David), Zandra Graham (Eric), and Tammy Mayhall (Ali); sons: Timothy Mayhall (Cathy), Brad Mayhall (Tanya); 11 grandchildren & 18 great-grandchildren- all of whom he loved dearly; and brothers, Tex Mayhall and Billy Mayhall.He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnice and Essie Mayhall; daughter, Susan Gail Mayhall; brother, Jimmy Mayhall; sister, Sue Cooper; great-granddaughter, Xelana Mystique Ellison. Visitation will be held at Grant Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 12-3 p.m. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to the Alzheimer's Association.
